Our Guest Has Departed

Several weeks ago, Flat Stanley came to us from a grade school friend of mine (Ruth's), now living in Kentucky. Her son is in the first grade and read the book Flat Stanley by Jeff Brown. I am pretty sure I read this book when I was little, but that was before the Flat Stanley Project - the way the project worked in this case was Flat Stanley stayed with us (the host family) and we took him different places. He sent postcards back to Kentucky from the places he visited. We took him to 4 countries, with his last one being Konstanz, Germany (pictured here). He departed Switzerland on Thursday - headed back to his home in Kentucky.

Bye Flat Stanley!

Kentucky meet Massachusetts

Two visitors from the US arrived last week.    Interestingly, they have the same name - Flat Stanley.  The Flat Stanly above came from Kentucky.

And this Flat Stanley came from Massachusetts.  Ruth took them both to the Fasnacht parade in Luzern last Monday.

As you can see, they were pretty excited to meet new people and pose for pictures.

After a long day in Luzern, they were happy to be on the train headed back to Fehraltorf...
